Oiseval : Norse-The East Hill [360-Video] >

On Oesival in the breeze (there are multiple stories of deafness caused by high winds on St Kilda) and being attacked by Great Skuas.

A cliet is a small stone cave used for food storage. There are around 1260 of them on the island. The skipper on a previous journey I undertook thought it may have become a hobby - it looks an ancient art. These constructions although not unique to the island are not seen with such abundance elsewhere. In the video above they pattern the hill in the sun. The hiortach will have gathered the stones together in building... presumably this is why they are so evenly spaced.

The weather forecast peaked at windspeed force 9 while we were there. Boats were not coming out. There was a water shortage on island too - by ourselves in the tipi for a week.

Trumps > were common in stories of celebration on St Kilda. I brought 6 of them to create a bond with our fellow campers and explore a new folk music for the island. Sadly because of the weather this came to nothing.

Perhaps this is just as well >
